The official website of Japan-Turkic States Network (TORUKO) has been launched in December 2023. The address of the website is www.toruko.jp
TORUKO will be the hub to facilitate the communication of the related entities in its field of interest.
TORUKO will regularly share the related news in consideration of non-intereference in internal political affairs of the countries and mutual respect for the national identities of all nations.
100th anniversary of Japan-Türkiye relations

In 2024, Japan and Turkey celebrate the 100th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, established on August 6, 1924, following Japan’s ratification of the Treaty of Lausanne. The opening of Japan's first embassy in the Middle East in Turkey (1925) underscores the significance of the bilateral relationship. Despite the challenges of World War II, Japan and Turkey maintained their friendship.
Japan-Kyrgyzstan Summit Meeting

Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Sadyr ZHAPAROV, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, who was paying an official visit to Japan. After the meeting, the two leaders signed and exchanged the Joint Statement on friendship and comprehensive partnership in the new era between Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Japan-Turkic States Relations

Japan and the Turkic States have deep historical bonds, starting from the 19th century.
A brief chronology of the relationship is presented below. The historical data are compiled mainly from the records of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Tax Convention between Japan and Turkmenistan

The Government of Japan and the Government of Turkmenistan have reached a basic agreement on a new tax convention that will replace the current agreement (the Convention between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income) which has been in effect since 1986.
Tax Convention between Japan and Azerbaijan


Japan has officially notified Azerbaijan that it has completed the necessary internal procedures for the entry into force of the “Convention between Japan and the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance”.
SUMMIT
On August 13, commencing at 16:00 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone talk with H.E. Mr. Sadyr ZHAPAROV, President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On September 20th, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Murat NURTLEU, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in New York during the United Nations General Assembly.

Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a working dinner with Mr. Bakhtiyor SAIDOV, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during his visit to Japan. The meeting, lasting about 80 minutes, covered various topics of bilateral and regional cooperation.
