On August 13, commencing at 16:00 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone talk with H.E. Mr. Sadyr ZHAPAROV, President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Murat NURTLEU, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in New York during the United Nations General Assembly.
State Minister Yamada expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Turkish delegation and hoped their visit to Japan, including tours of the Hyogo Prefectural Wide-Area Disaster Prevention Center and Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park, would be fruitful.
Japan has officially notified Azerbaijan that it has completed the necessary internal procedures for the entry into force of the “Convention between Japan and the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance”.

In 2024, Japan and Turkey celebrate the 100th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, established on August 6, 1924, following Japan’s ratification of the Treaty of Lausanne. The opening of Japan's first embassy in the Middle East in Turkey (1925) underscores the significance of the bilateral relationship.
The Government of Japan and the Government of Turkmenistan have reached a basic agreement on a new tax convention that will replace the current agreement which has been in effect since 1986.
On March 8, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a working dinner with Mr. Bakhtiyor SAIDOV, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during his visit to Japan. The meeting, lasting about 80 minutes, covered various topics of bilateral and regional cooperation.
